Skincare haul #2

As I’m currently still struggling with my skin, I decided to purchase more skincare products so hopefully my skin would get better soon. This time I decided to order from feelunique.com. We do have La Roche-Posay and Origins here in Estonia, but they don’t have a wide selection of products here. For me personally it was way more convenient to go and order online rather than trying to find these items in stores. Effaclar range isn’t available in Estonia for sure.

I picked up La Roche-Posay Effaclar 3-Step Anti-Blemish System, Origins Super Spot Remover Blemish Treatment Gel 10ml  and Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask to Clear Pores 100ml. I also got samples of ELEMIS Biotec Trio and Ole Henriksen Truth Sugar Glow Polishing Mask which I’m also interested in trying out.

La Roche-Posay Effaclar 3-Step Anti-Blemish SystemI’ve heard a lot of good things about La Roche-Posay’s products and love their Serozinc Spray, so I have good hopes on this kit. Actually I wanted to try out only the Effaclar Duo [+] Anti-blemish Cream, but as I needed a new toner as well, I opted for this kit. I don’t know how will I feel about the Foaming Gel Cleanser as foaming cleansers are something that I usually avoid in my skincare. But we’ll see how it works out for me.

So what do La Roche-Posay promise?

Effaclar ‘3-Step’ Anti-Blemish System is a simple yet effective regime, designed to help you achieve clearer-looking skin. Gentle enough for use twice a day and also suitable for sensitive skin. This new regime inspired by dermatologists’ approach, adopts the simple skincare principle: 1) cleanse, 2) tone, 3) correct & hydrate, to deliver clinically proven results. Targets blemishes, visible pores, uneven skin texture, excess oil and marks. The kit is aimed at people who have an oily and blemish prone skin. It claims to help reduce sebum levels, remove bacteria, matte the skin, reduce pore size whilst unclogging them and help to reduce the appearance of red and brown marks left from old blemishes.

So as you can see the kit is aimed towards people with oily skin, I have a dry to combinational skin. I’ve read many reviews and think that for my skin its best if I use the toner and anti-blemish cream daily and the cleanser like twice a week? I’m not sure yet.. Have to try out how the cleanser works on my skin. I have other cleansers too so I can switch it up whenever I have the feel for it.

Origins Super Spot Remover Blemish Treatment Gel 10ml – I’ve heard Sammi talk about this product before and as I had some raging pimples troublesome skin, I ordered it within a heart beat. Honestly, if your skin is at your worst you’re willing to do anything to get it fixed. Geez, I really do have my highest hopes on this product.

So what do Origins promise?

The blemish-blasting spot treatment reaches dipping within the affected area to remove stubborn pimples that won’t easily disappear. Just dab Origins Super Spot Remover Blemish Treatment Gel on a dot and feel blemish-busting Salicylic Acid instantly help speed healing while anti-spot technology helps visibly correct post blemish darkening. Skin-calming Caffeine and Red Algae help visibly relieve irritating redness. And to help keep skin looking spotless, super exfoliators eliminate excess oils and pore-clogging debris.

The idea of this treatment is that it takes down blemishes, dries them up and makes them disappear in no time, so you don’t have to, er… pop them. YUCK! Just use a clean cotton bud to pick up the lotion, apply little to the problem areas before bed. And in the morning most of the worst ones have cleared up. Uhh, I do hope that it works wonders!

Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask to Clear Pores 100ml –  this mask shouldn’t need any introduction. I’ve been eyeing it up for years but I always had some GlamGlow masks halfway through so I didn’t have enough justification to buy a new one. Now finally I have my hands on it and I can’t wait to try it out!

So what do Origins promise?

When environmental pollutants – dirt and debris, get under your skin its waste-filtering system gets jammed, pores get clogged, skin looks cloudy. Nature’s complexion clean-up crew in Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask to Clear Pores gets to the bottom of skins overcast condition and clears the way for it to act its best. Activated Charcoal acts like a magnet to draw out pore-cloggers, White China Clay absorbs environmental pollutants and Lecithin dissolves impurities. Without all that “stuff” down there skin breathes a sigh of relief.

We all know how much  oil and sweat gets clogged in our pores during those hot, humid summer days… So a mask that can unclog pores and get rid of those nasty bits is a must! It’s recommended to use it once a week or as often as needed. Use a warm moist towel to open up pores and layer the mask on. Allow it to dry and rinse well. The skin will look brighter, clearer and the pores look less noticeable.

Have you tried any of these products? Do you have a hero product for troublesome skin? Let me know your recommendations! 🙂
