Hi guys! Sorry for being absent for such a long time. I kinda do have an excuse for going under the radar last month, which is why I wanted to explain myself before I start my blogging rally. I try to make it as short as possible. Believe me, I’ve been writing this post for the past 2 weeks and still haven’t posted it cuz it always ends up as a long rant on this miserable year my skin has had.
Uh, still don’t know where exactly to start the story to make it more understandable. Mmm. So yeah. I’ve been dealing with my acne for about 4 years now, haven’t mentioned here much cuz I’m ashamed of it, obviously.. It’s not something a 23-year-old would want to deal with. And as a beauty and lifestyle blogger it can be quite difficult to keep up with skincare and makeup posts when your own skin is just falling off. This year has been the hardest as my medication has been having supply difficulties since January and getting an appointment to my own dermatologist took me over 6 months. There has been better days over the years, even months when I have thought that I’ve conquered the whole “acne thing”. But this year, as the medication wasn’t
and still isn’t available, it has been the worst.
Til August it was mentally manageable for me. I thought the sun will make everything better and that the medication will come back in stock etc. But nothing changed and I started getting comments and remarks on how I should deal with my acne. Plus I visited a random dermatologist and a beautician to make my condition better. It all ended up horrible and I kept mostly inside for two weeks. After those 2 appointments I just didn’t know what the hell will I do. Blogging was the last thing in my mind as the only thing I really wanted was to have a clear skin. I felt disgusted and didn’t see the point of blogging and recommending stuff for people if I myself can’t keep a clear skin.
Thankfully I have good and smart people around me who were willing to travel to another country to get my medication. And after 5 months of searching for an appointment for my dermatologist I finally found it, randomly at 1 PM on a Saturday night. What a catch! Only thing was that I had to wait for a whole month for it. Uhh, kinda fed up with everything going on here in Estonia. It’s absurd that we’re the only country that doesn’t have the medication in stock and somehow getting an appointment to specialist is the biggest pain ever.
So finally I have my skin under control and I’ve had the appointment with my dermatologist.
Who is waaaaay better than the random one who recommended me to wash my face more often. To avoid having any of those “great recommendation” comments down here on how I should address my acne and what I should do. I just want you to take a moment and consider that I’ve been dealing with it for over 4 years now. I’ve probably tried most of the common tricks and tips. So please, don’t tell me how drinking more water and keeping away from dairy will help. I’ve heard enough of those comments and I’ve truly tried them and I know what works and what doesn’t. Acne isn’t something easy and I do think that my daily routine is good and my diet is enough clean and healthy. If I’d be doing something really wrong then I’m sure my dermatologist would have told me about it years ago.
Finally off my chest. I’ll try to be more opened on this subject and do more skincare related posts so you’d be updated. Also perhaps someone who’s in a same position will find some tips or products to combat this horror as acne. I’ve had some ideas on making some morning/evening routine videos. And lots of skincare reviews on your way as I’ve been using quite a lot of thing this year while I didn’t have my medication.
Hope this post made any sense and I promise that I’ll post more regularly now. New post coming at you tomorrow!
Do let me know if you have any topics that you’d like me to write about!
